60th edition of the international film
This festival was created in 1951 by the Allies, who wanted to establish as a "showcase of the free world." The opening of the first Berlinale, June 6, 1951, was made with Alfred Hitchcock's Rebecca. Since that first Berlinale, the ultimate prize is the Golden Bear (sculpted by Renee Sintenis). The best films of the International Competition are rewarded with the Golden Bear while the Silver Bear , besides the Grand Jury Prize is assigned Benefits for best director, for Best Actress and Best Actor. Bears are awarded by a jury of film professionals and personalities from the arts and culture. Other prizes are awarded as the Golden Bear of Honor and the Berlinale Camera The Golden Bear award of honor personalities of world cinema for his entire career.
